Our Hero, Deputy Daniel McCartney, was a proud Navy veteran, Law Enforcement officer, husband, and father of three sons. Deputy McCartney lost his life in the line of duty on January 8, 2018. 484 HERO and "Coffee with Dan" was created to honor Dan's life and show our support for law enforcement officers.

On January 7, 2018, Deputy Dan McCartney responded to an armed home invasion robbery at a residence near Frederickson, WA. Upon hearing children crying and screaming from inside the home, Deputy McCartney courageously ran after two armed suspects as they fled into a nearby property. During the exchange of gunfire with the suspects, Deputy McCartney was struck by a bullet and, unfortunately, passed away a short time later during the early morning of January 8. The bravery he displayed that night was remarkable, and the strength shown by his wife and young sons is equally remarkable.
